Workshop: Encre de Chine (Ink Painting)

We will examine a wide range of techniques and approaches in the use of ink and explore different tools like brushes, pens and quills.

During the course, we will explore how to painting on rice paper ans well as layering on traditional watercolor paper.

We will study basic concepts such as tone, light and shadow, texture and composition through a variety of exercises. At the end of the course, the students will have a deep background of methods in using ink as a medium
