MILKMAID BY VERMEER

I created this comic for the site tokyoartbeat.com, Tokyo's art and design web magazine. It is a review of the exhibition, Milkmaid by Vermeer and Dutch Genre Painting held at the National Art Center in Roppongi, Tokyo. This was quite a hard comic to do as I didn't know how to actually present the review. Finally I decided to show paintings from the show itself, where the figures from the paintings were actually speaking for me. The highlight of the show is The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer and unfortunately I couldn't get very close to the painting itself during the exhibition. In fact, I wasn't even allowed to sketch in the museum!
